Welcome to the Game Changing Alliance as our first member outside Sweden! We have met with CEO of the Finnish company QPQ Box, Tom Svenfelt, to get to know them – and him – a bit better.
Could you tell us a bit about who you are?
QPQ Box is a company producing large parcel lockers for the last mile industry and retail business. The boxes can be used as pick up points for larger packages or items that do not fit in the regular lockers with standardized measurements designed for small parcels.
The last mile industry is growing rapidly and to collect your shipment from a pick up point instead of receiving a standard home delivery is becoming a more popular alternative in some customer segments.
That last mile logistics companies can utilize the boxes as a city hub is another huge advantage. It allows the logistics companies to operate for example with electrical vehicles more efficiently when they can collect more shipments from the box for distribution instead of driving back to a terminal far outside the city center.
Our solution is probably the most flexible product on the market since the size of the boxes and number of modules can be tailor made according to the need of the client.
Why have you decided to join the alliance?
When we discovered the alliance, we found out that there are actually no similar organizations on the market that work with these important topics in a non-profitable way.
With our expertise and the expertise from all other member companies, working in different segments, we can together really make a change on the market.
We can learn from each other and exchange experience on how to contribute to a more sustainable way of working with outstanding solutions.
When there is no competition among the members, everyone is opening up to share information in a totally different and more transparent way. With the strength of the alliance we can achieve much more and faster than working on our own.
What are your expectations?
With the strength of networking across the borders from our own company we have a strong belief that this will open up for new ways of working, new ways of producing services and resulting in that we can offer a total, sustainable, solution for our end customers.
That will put us and our company in a much stronger position when driving our mission forward on different markets. On the other hand we also think we can contribute to the alliance with a lot of experience around customer expectations, trends and parcel logistics.
Tell us something we don´t know about you
“I have had a weird interest in British politics ever since the Brexit referendum. I’ve closely followed developments, particularly debates in the House of Commons, with a special focus on Prime Minister’s Questions. From David Cameron and Theresa May to Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, and Rishi Sunak, and now looking forward to Keir Starmer.”, says Tom Svenfelt.
“However, my interest has waned recently, as I found the previous Speaker of the House, John Bercow, more entertaining. Apart from this I have a long history within marketing and communications. To now join QPQ opens up a really interesting world full of big potential and possibilities.”, he continues.
A strong addition to our member list
Per Olof Arnäs, Secretary General of the Game Changing Alliance, welcomes this new addition to our group.
“With an actor like QPQ Box we will get access to not only valuable insights and connections in the last mile industry but also their unique perspective as a product company in this industry. Sustainability is multi-dimensional and there are several vectors of development that need to happen simultaneously. With a strong, and enabling, infrastructure like the one QPQ Box provides we will unlock large potential within the transportation system.”, says Per Olof.
“They are also our first international member, strengthening our base significantly as we gain momentum to do even more in the near future.”, he finishes.
